About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Authentic Experience Collector

ABOUT ME

In the daily grind of life~ I am a Master Personal Trainer, Corporate Director, Consultant, and Fitness Instructor.

My other passions and pursuits are as a published author, artist, television host, crisis advocate, and international volunteer.

In 2007, I volunteered helping the women and children in the slums of India for 3 months. I am proud to say that I was accompanied by my then, 11 year old son who is immensely mature, and outrageously funny. He learned more in India than he ever would have in the classroom.

Our experience was so profound, that we want to get back ASAP...along with visiting many other places...basically anywhere.

PHILOSOPHY

The more I learn, the less I know...and the more I believe~ I am a seeker of Truth and thrive upon the infinite reflections and dimensions of God found in the most unlikely places. I embrace duality, diversity, and radical change. Poetry is my most intimate expression of my limitless passions.

I am a true Aquarian and Chinese Tigress. A humanitarian and a hard ass if that makes any sense...I am the definition of the word insomnia. There are not enough hours in the day to contain the universe of my thoughts.

I surround myself with people from all walks of life of which I can share and learn from. I value loyalty, honesty, respect, and passion.

I treasure subtlety and mystery that is mystical, not mythical. Depth of the heart and mind. I have little tolerance for empty conversation or shallow people.

Life is also too short to take myself too seriously. I have a childlike curiosity of life and learning. I have very little interest in THINGS.

I am fascinated with culture and diversity...underdog and hard knox stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a part of CS for about a year now and very much enjoyed hosting a good handful of people from all over the world, as well as traveled within the country where I was graciously welcomed.

Now that I have traveled internationally on a low budget, I understand the impact it has on a persons soul. We look foreward to hosting travelers while in Okinawa and sharing our CS experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes in music are not reflected by genre...but by what and whom is inspiring me at that moment...

I am constantly reading. Anything to do with the heart and mind, body and spirit...but mostly~ POETRY. I could drink the words of Rumi, Mirabai, Tagore, and other mystics... But more than anything, I enjoy reading the works of many of my friends who have now become my favorite writers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled: A handful of destinations throughout America, Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, London, India, and now Japan.

Touched the relics and footprint of Muhammad…Seen the sun both set and rise from a boat on the Ganges…Been blessed by a Brahmin…Got my nose pierced by a guy who sits on the sidewalk with a crate as his shop… who is apparently famous… We witnessed the dead burn on the funeral pyre to be sent to Nirvana… My son and I made the front page of the Hindustan Times for wearing a turban…and I ate a "fruit of the Ganges"…don't ask.

I have trekked the desert sands upon the back of a camel; Vomited profusely out the window of an over-crowded moving bus (a real highlight;)I had a Gecko fall on my head, a rat run across my feet, and a cockroach that I covered with a bowl because I couldn't kill it; Sat in a temple in the middle of the night singing music I don't understand with a band of gypsies; I received a mystical charka healing treatment by a man that plays a didgeridoo and lives in a room the size of an average bathroom.

I have taken the holy bath in the Ganges. (not recommended;) Had our food stolen by a monkey; been stung by a scorpion.

I have seen the pyramids of the Mayan ruins; The Taj Mahal; the Golden Temple; and countless other lesser known monuments and moments that are none the less spectacular...residing often in the smile of the child that just painted a chickadee purple; or the blind man that plays the drums...

There is magnificence everywhere...if your eyes are open.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have much to share on the creative realm of writing, poetry, and art.

I am more than happy to share any of my skills as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor.

I have an expansive interest in faith and culture which is enhanced by my travels of which I am always willing to share.

Life experience and hard knox...yeah...I've got that too;)

I would especially like to learn more Hindi and Italian. Or writing in Sanskrit or Farsi. Language fascinates me; as well as anything to do with the arts and music. Anyone with information on running an NGO. Hearing your travel stories!
