CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to be a social justice advocate and eventually to eliminate this thing we call "RACE." I want to encourge people to not only embrace their own cultural heritage but to also learn the culture of others! Learning salsa = no racism!

ABOUT ME

I love attending Sunday morning services and Wednesday Bible studies at my or other peoples' churches. This also includes fellowshipping with others after service or during the week by going to lunch or hanging out somewhere. I try to go out Salsa dancing once a week because dance is my art I have been gifted with and it's a stress reliever and a great way to exercise and met new people. The Social Worker in me loves to read self-help books to keep me updated in my field and, of course, to improve my life. I also enjoy attending cultural events and to travel nationally and internationally at least twice a year (now that I'm not in college ;)!
People have told me that I display a sense of "I know why I'm here" vibe no matter what environment I enter. I'm still trying to figure out what that means and looks like :) They also notice that I'm very adaptable and accepting to most people and environments (with the exception of oppressive ones).

PHILOSOPHY

My purpose on Earth can only be done by me through the Holy Spirit! Amen!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the CS Project but I plan on particpating by sharing my story when I travel abroad and to also host some members when they come to the BIG D (Dallas, TX)!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed in Rome, Naples, Florence Venice and back to Rome again May 2009! I had a blast with my host and miss them already!

I grew up very poor but I still ended up going to graduate school at an Ivy League University!

I like to teach people about the "Mixed Race" community and racism as a whole. I'm also skilled in Latin and Hip-Hop dancing!
I want to learn about peoples experiences with life as a whole and their living environment!
