About Me

Hello! I love all things related to traveling, backpacking, computers, and learning. I am from Los Angeles and have lived in LA, Seattle, San Francisco, Mexico City, and now New York. I'm a software engineer and I have a miniature schnauzer, Behr!

I love visiting museums, watching musicals, finding cool bars and small spots, and trying new things. I also greatly appreciate stimulating conversation and friendly, open people.

I hope when Covid is over I can host people again!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Courchsurfing because I think it's an excellent way to meet new and interesting people and learn from them.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite composer is JS Bach, I love live jazz, and I listen to Broadway soundtracks to concentrate at work. I appreciate any movie that expands my mind and have recently enjoyed Second Mother and Roma. Letters to a Young Poet by Rainier Maria Wilke is one of my favourite books (set of letters, really), especially the August 12, 1904 letter. My favourite musical is Come From Away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travel solo a lot now, but the first time I did it for an extended period of time was the summer before my senior year in college. I was super heartbroken and lonely as I left Switzerland and ended up just going wherever the trains took me after that for a few months, going around Western Europe and Scandinavia. It was actually the first time I used Couchsurfing and I only stayed with one host but I met so many fantastic locals who introduced me to their cities and really helped lift me up. I was blown away by peoples' kindness and I came back to the US so refreshed and ready to love myself.
