About Me
CURRENT MISSION
never stop questioning, but eagerly strive to find contentment here and now
ABOUT ME
I am an pretty down to earth, honest and engaging person, who prefers quality over quantity in all the aspects of my life. I want to meet people who will challenge me and with whom I can explore the world!
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but now have one leg in the Pacific Northwest and consider myself an unconventional Texan. I have worked two summers as a counselor at a camp in Northern Idaho with kids from 5-18 years old. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University where I am pursuing degrees in Biomedical Science and Philosophy. I have a cat named Emmon who is a year old. I work in a microbiology research lab on campus where I am engaged in projects related to bio-energy, and aspire to ultimately become a physician (not sure what that means yet...). I feel mildly displaced as I am most at peace in the mountains or surrounded by Nature, but seem to find refuge and solace intermittently in the city. Consequently, I love to camp, hike, mountaineer, backpack, cross-country ski, etc. I am an avid reader, love to travel, to cook, to run, listen to music and recently have begun practicing yoga. My favorite television shows are Arrested Development and Mad Men and favorite movies are The Big Lebowski and Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Unfortunately, I feel that any litany of facts about myself will never suffice to convey the totality of me; therefore, it would be so much easier to meet and share a meal, coffee or tea (and look forward to this possibility!).

Music, Movies, and Books
The Big Lebowski, Drop Dead Gorgeous, The Life Aquatic
Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Beyond Good and Evil, Walden- Currently lugging around Zen and the Brain and just finished Grace and Grit by Ken Wilber, which was the first book to ever make me cry...
Musical choice is greatly influenced by my mood:
everyday and any time: fleet foxes, starslinger,el ten eleven, radiohead, aa bondy, tallest man on earth, phoenix, the polish ambassador, discovery, kanye, crystal castles, the beatles, pink floyd have been my most recent musical preferences- I have to admit, I wish that I had more time to devote to appreciating music, but to be honest, I often find most of my music from my friends...
driving- definitely rap- the more offensive, the better
relaxation/introspection- classical- rachmaninoff, mussorgsky- and world-ravi shankar, native american flutes...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
Looking to always improve my culinary skills, hopefully through excessive trial and error!
I would like to learn to make aesthetically appealing cappuccino.
I would also love to share any of your philosophical musings, to dialogue and to keep learning (thinking!)
