About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work and settle in Scotland, travels on hold

I have no further plans for long term travel as I cant afford it and am trying to settle in 1 place. In the past 5 years I have lived and worked in Australia, and travelled in New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. I have also had short trips to Dubai and France!

My couchsurfing experience began when i lived with my sister in Edinburgh in Edinburgh in 2010, and we hosted others. When i was in Australia in 2011-2012 i 'surfed' for the first time.

My month long trip to Japan was spent entirely couchsurfing where I met the coolest people, sampled the culture, food and delights. It is one of my most amazing memories,

My friends would describe me as having funny stories without trying, a bit of a rock chick, liking classic cars, playing tennis, keeping active, walks etc.

Im easy going, work hard, enjoy talking to people and having fun. Love going out for a meal and a good night out, especially where wine is involved!
I like music, outdoors, and have a tea drinking fetish!

More recently I am settled and working in Aberdeen with some short holidays each year at home and abroad.

Happy to meet for coffee etc evenings and weekends with travellers as time permits.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, going to various meetings in every country I've visited, (CS camping trips etc) and I hosting/meeting visitors to show around local area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with a few people now and it really is interesting, you can be surprised by how friendly people can be and how much knowledge you can gain from them.
Also how trusting strangers can be....this is very touching.
I was particularly outstanded by the kind nature of the Japanese hosts! WOW
I had the pleasure of repaying this kindness when one of my hosts came to stay with me in March 2012 after I'd stayed in Kyoto, Japan Oct 2011.

Interests

Live music, old cars, drinking different kinds of tea; gin and coffee, meeting interesting people, seeing new sights. Coastal walking. Scottish islands. Eating crisps, cheese and biscuits. I also like trying new things
