I'm not in Stuttgart currently! :)

Hi! I'm Mia, 20, currently working on my application to hopefully study fine arts soon.

I grew up in Germany, but spent the first 5 years of my life in China, which is why I'm fluent in Mandarin as well.
All my life I grew up between those two cultures. And people always asked, do you feel more German or Chinese, but in the end, it's about carrying both identities with me. Finding out I don't really belong to one or the other culture 100%, it's really a mixed identity. Which in turn helps so much with openness towards cultural differences.

My friends often say that my energy is like that of a golden retriever. Very positive and cheerful, excited about many small things. Like the joy you feel when you help a caterpillar cross a path in the forest. When you find a shining beetle. Or how a butterfly shimmers in the sunlight.

I love the serenity of looking into the night sky. Star gazing and suddenly feeling so small and insignificant. But that means, even though we are so small in this universe, our lives become meaningful through sharing with the people around us. The ones we love and the strangers around us. All those connections and crossed paths give meaning to our lives.

I love getting to know people from different places and cultures, find our similarities and differences, talk about our lives and joys and challenges in life. But that is obvious here, no?

I want to travel more, especially in a more personal way where you get to know the locals. Exchange our cultures, show each other the places. Find friends, listen to different people's stories, connect.
