ABOUT ME

I'm Mia, a 20 year old student from Slovenia. I'm studying psychology in the capital city of my country, Ljubljana, and I'm trying to experience as much as possible of the student life in the "big" city. I'm quite open-minded and spontaneous, but sometimes I need some time to adjust myself to some people - I may seem shy at first, but believe me, I'm really not like that when you get to know me a little. :) I'm trying to really take advantage of each and every day (but of course I also like to just stay in bed some days and eat unhealthy food and watch some stupid TV shows ...). I love trying out new things and I try to not let fear of the unknown interfere with my decisions. Scouts had a lot of impact on my life and I really do believe that I became a better person with the help of the scouts movement.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that anyone can do really anything in the world, if only their desire is big enough. You can find a lot of different ways to achieve something you wish for and I don't want to believe in words like "I can't do that" - don't be a victim, decide to be a winner.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm really new around here so I haven't had many chances to participate in Couchsurfing yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to all experience related to it. I would like to show people from around the world how beautiful Ljubljana can be if you look at it from the right perspective, but I don't wat to be a typical tourist guide. I enjoy hanging out with people and if I can do something good for them in the process (give them a place to sleep, good company and a torist guide all in one) - great! :) I really don't have a lot of time some days, but for friend from different countries I will definitely find it, don't worry.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any experience with Couvhsurfing other than listening to some of my friends praising it. I'm really new around here, but I hope I will gain some experience very soon!! :)

Intereses

My main interest at the moment is the scouts movement all around the world and particularly here in Slovenia. I'm the main leader of scouts' group in my hometown and I really want to live by the movement's main goal: to leave a beter world behind than it is now and to raise new generations of leaders of the future.
I'ma lso really interested in leading psychology, positive psychology and psychology of marketing and I have my fingers crossed that one of this fields will be my occupation in a couple of years.

Música, películas y libros

I listen to a lot of different music and I really don't like to label it. I listen to what I feel like in each moment and I'm really not so picky.
I don't really watch a lot of movies lately but I love The Perks of Being a Wallflower, it's such an awesome movie, I'm going to read the book as soon as I can find some time! I also love Tim Burton movies, my favourite is Big Fish.
Lately I'm reading some books on psychology, more professional books and not so much novels and stuff like that, but I really wish I had more time to read more, fingers crossed!

Algo increíble que he hecho

The most amazing thing I've seen is, I think, 40 000 young people gathered all together in one place on the Jamboree site, if you looked at it from the air it was just like a giant city, formed out of tents. :) and I think the most amazing thing we all see each day is human kindness and consideration - it's everywhere if you only want to notice it, believe me.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach you my language any time, I really enjoy exploring it and puting it in different situations. I also can teach you some scout skills such such as living in the wild, knots, building a fire, stuff like that. I've also practiced some capoeira, so I can teach you how to kick someone's butt any day. :D

I would like to learn some basic phrases in as many languages as possible, so I would be really glad if you could teach me that. I'm also trying to find the motivation to learn the basics of how to play a guitar, but I know that I'll never get myself together to actually learn it... And I really can't cook a thing, so if you can teach me how to cook some simple dishes from your country, that would be amazing! :)
