About Me
Hello! はじめまして!I am Mia, an undergraduate student who is still a freshman for travelling. I don’t know how to define myself but I know that I feel delighted when I get to know new people and have a nice chat with them! I also love going out to the mountains, rivers, lakes, seas, fields and other places. I enjoy nature, no matter how small or large it is. I also like to get recommendations and to trying out new things! I was born in the United States, raised in Japan and am currently studying in Leeds, in the UK as an exchange student.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always been curious about places around the world as well as the culture and people of that place. Through Couchsurfing, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the place and learn about the everyday lives of the people through the hosts' help.
I like to meet new people and to make the most out of the encounter. Every person has a fantastic life story to tell about. So, through Couchsurfing, I really hope to get to know people who otherwise, I would not be able to meet. When I travel, I do not make a firm plan, and instead, I want to ask a recommendations from the host or if not busy do things with the host!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The thing I did and found it as an amazing experience is when I travelled to Inner-Mongolia. In a group, we moved across the desert including the Silkroad with horses. It felt stunning not just to walk but to run with the horse, cutting through the breeze in a large open field, where all you see is the sky and the ground. I felt a sense of bonding with the horse, and that was a fantastic experience as well.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to sing and have been practising the piano, guitar and the ukulele though I'm still at the beginner level. So I would love to learn from you who are more experienced! I would love to sing and enjoy music with the people around me! Since I am from Japan, I can teach the language and culture (like Origami and calligraphy). I have been learning Spanish so would like to practice with those who can speak Spanish!;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Adding to the things I mentioned above, I believe I can have a good conversation with you! I like folding not only Origami but clothes and washing dishes:) I genuinely hope to share a good time with the host!
