ABOUT ME

I am half hippie, half gnome. I am the product of a fairly alternative environment/upbringing. I grew up in a Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement. I embrace and accept most walks of life.
I find organizing/planning very therapeutic. I make lots of lists. I love the energy of thunder storms. Dancing in the rain is amazing. I often dance when there's no music. I experience deja vu quite often.

PHILOSOPHY

I aim to appreciate all the small things that enhance my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created this account to aid my travels. I want to surf couches and learn about other cultures. I cannot house/host anyone currently because I do not have a spare bed or even a couch, but I promise I'm working on it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used CS in Germany in Heidelberg and Tuebingen. It was a great experience. My friends and I stayed with such nice people! We got to experience aspects of the cities that we would never have seen as regular tourists such as eating lunch at the university in Heidelberg and witnessing a physics experiment.

Interessi

I love to learn. My academic interests are environmental science, gender/sexuality studies, languages, literature... pretty much everything.
I love to cook! I would be thrilled to cook for anyone I stay with (in fact I would insist upon it) but I do not cook meat - don't worry, you won't miss it.

Musica, film e libri

Movies: Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club, Benny and Joon, I Heart Huckabee's, Breakfast Club, King of Hearts, Amelie. Also a huge sci-fi fan.
Music: Elephant Revival, Joe Pug, Cocorosie, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, ect... I need to learn to play the banjo sometime in the near future, my soul longs for it.
Books: my favorite book is "The Book Thief", by Marcus Zusak, and I highly recommend that everyone read it. Two of my favorite authors are Francesca Lia Block, and Ellen Hopkins. I am also a big fan of E. E. Cummings and Sylvia Plath.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Once, I was at a park and there was this beautiful black and blue butterfly fluttering about. Of course, I tried to get close to it when it landed on benches and things. Doesn't everyone chase butterflies? Then, when it landed on the merry-go-round I walked towards it very slowly with my hand outreached, and when my hand was about 5 or 6 feet away from it... it flew over and landed on my hand!

I would be happy to teach some English to people, and I would love to learn other languages. I would also love to share and gain cooking knowledge.
Will someone please teach me to play banjo?
I also do tarot... not something I can teach but I'm happy to do readings for others.
