About Me

I'm an engineering student in my second year at Calvin College. I'm a swing dancer, a traveler, and history nerd. So if any of that clicks with you, hit me up! I love making friends from all over ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to travel and learn about other cultures and because I dislike being sucked into the tourist experience. If I go somewhere I want to live as someone there, I want to see what they see and experience what they experience, or at least to the best of my ability haha

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I like basically all music live, but my favorites are:
Indie, Alternative, and Rock like Death Cab for Cutie, The National, and Beirut

Movies:
This is a very very long list lol but here's a few:
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Any movie by Wes Anderson, and The Mission

Authors:
I like to read a lot in general but here are a few that are close to my heart:
Anything by C.S. Lewis, Bernard Cornwell, George R.R. Martin, and Brandon Sanderson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed the Snake Path in the Dead Sea Valley , it's the main route to reach the plateau on top of Masada, and it's a gorgeous, but difficult climb, and the view at the top is worth it all

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
American English or Spanish.
How to Swing Dance, play the Bass if your interested, or I love cooking, so that'd always be fun!

Learn:
The local language, I believe the language is the first way to learn a culture
A dance, this in my mind is the second way, it shows the rhythm of life the country has
How to cook a local dish, this is a close third, as a person's second heart is their stomach ;)

Share:
Dancing, as you can guess by now ;)
Music
Cooking
