2 Year anniversary of being Nomadic!!! 02/14/18

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one piece of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

-Alex McCandless

I love Ted Talks, these are some of my favorites...

*How to travel the world with almost no money | Tomislav Perko | TEDxTUHH

*The art of asking | Amanda Palmer

*10 ways to have a better conversation | Celeste Headlee

*How to make stress your friend | Kelly McGonigal

I am the choices that I make.

I have embarked on a beautiful journey of self discovery, growth, giving, connection, adventure and enjoyment. I will be overcoming my fears, doubts and mind concepts/illusions/conditioning. I got rid of most of my possessions (not my vinyls or record player) and giving the rest away on my cross country road trip. My journey started February 14th, 2016 in Miami, FL. I am planning out my itinerary along the way and am open to all suggestions and invitations.

I will be volunteering through online communities such as WWOOF and helpx.net. I will be hiking, swimming, connecting, exploring, camping, growing, learning, couchsurfing, living, etc in Nature, National Parks, waterfalls, mountains, lakes, beaches, springs, couches, etc. I would love to make many wonderful connections with the couch surfing community.

"Writing a novel (or learning) is like driving at night in the fog. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make it the whole trip that way."

We are all going to the same destination, like the saying goes "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey".

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow!
-Hunter S. Thompson

Enjoy the ride!

*I overcame the illusions and pre conceived notions of the mind by breaking wood, walking on glass and then walking on fire! (St. Petersburg, FL)

*I stayed at the Famous Tiny Home in Niceville, USA. Check out the interview Fran did on me. http://tinyhousehold.com/couchsurfing-tiny-house/ For all your tiny home needs and if you're interested in the tiny home lifestyle go to tinyhousehold.com. I am a future tiny homeowner!

*The one and only Lama Lena visited New Orleans and hosted some beautiful teachings at the Louisiana Himalaya Association (http://www.lhainfo.org/) where I volunteered. It was an honor and life changing to be in her presence and listen to her speak for 3 days. I took refuge with her and am forever grateful. I am the innate Buddha nature! If you want more info on Lama Lena go to

*I volunteered at Salamander Springs in Milledgeville, GA. I volunteered through wwoofusa.org. Living here was eye-opening, mind-expanding, my comfort levels were tested. I learned and grew and am forever grateful. I met some beautiful people, I now call friends! I will take the ideas and systems in place and use them to build my own off-grid community paradise in the future. I will definitely be back. My experience will be different from yours and it truly is ineffable. If you are interested in permaculture, farming, off-grid living, community living, cooking on an open fire, sustainable living, etc. Go live here, experience it for yourself. You will see into the true nature of life. Here is their link https://wwoofusa.org/farm/salamander-springs-permaculture-farm/

*I went to an Ecstatic Dance Party at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC. Words can't describe how good it felt. I felt so alive dancing and my innate nature of loving and being free was amplified by all the like-minded people. If you ever get a chance to go to an event like this. DO IT! Get out of your comfort zone and dance like you mean it!

*Philadelphia Museum of Art - The Masterpieces tour with Joshua R. Helmer. MIND BLOWN!

*I saw 21 waterfalls in one day at Ricketts Glen State Park, then got lost with a fellow hiker and had to find our way back to the car in the dark. Good thing I had a flashlight and good company.

*Near death experience at Tallulah Gorge State Park.

*WWOOFing at River Cottage Farm was more than just a volunteering and learning experience. I was integrated into this family's life and I felt so welcomed and at home. Eating fresh vegetables and fruits and animals that have been pasture-raised and treated with love really makes you question your prior eating habits and the way the mass production of food in our country is processed. I am lactose intolerant and it was my first time consuming raw milk and raw milk products. I had no adverse reactions to these products. In fact, everything I ate of the farm was nutritionally fulfilling and soul-satisfying. I also made beautiful connections with the family. Debbie, Deanna, Brayden, Charlie, and Indigo hold a special place in my heart. Each member on the farm had something to offer to the farm and household. I left because of plans I have already made but if not I could have stayed here for months and truly embraced the lifestyle. This experience is one of many that is teaching me not to plan too ahead in my life and travels so that I can stay in a place indefinitely.

* My Morning Jacket @ Red Rocks 2 shows! Reminiscing and re-listening/watching for infinite times into the abyss. Will these goosebumps ever go away... Spiritual, love, mind-blowing, connecting experience with my favorite band in the greatest venue and the best fans in the world!

"Times are strange right now. But there's a lot of good in the world and I can feel it here. Let's help each other move past all the bullshit. Let's help each other move past outdated concepts such as race and sexual orientation. Let's help each other move past outdated concepts to the present, which is love. Love is all there is. Love is all we need and we need it really bad right now. Help spread the word...love."
-Jim James @ Red Rocks 5.28.16

*Camping for 10 out of 14 days. Working to Save the Bees with an awesome group of people. Cooking in Community. Making new connections. Climbing my first 14er. Living in Nature. Reading The Man Who Quit Money and getting inspired to do the same. Road tripping through the scenic views of Colorado, Utah, and Arizona with fellow couch surfer/coworker but most importantly a true friend which I am grateful to have met. Living in the Grand Canyon. Camping off the side of the road...A Place That Will Remain Unknown, "The Watering Hole" Campsite in Utah. Watching sunrises and sunset. Climbing nature's structures. Stargazing, Being one with nature!

*First Outdoor Rock Climbing experience...saw a guy take a 40 plus foot fall due to not taking certain safety precautions. Living on the edge and doing dangerous activities is something I love to do and I admire people who do it as well but make sure to always take the necessary safety precautions. Better safe than sorry.

*Telluride Mushroom Festival! Fungi will preserve our planet and sustain the people!

*Transformational Voice Lesson with Linda brought to class by couchsurfer James. Learned how to breathe! Practice!

*National Parks tour for the 100th anniversary week of The National Parks Service! 6 National Parks in 5 days! I wish I could elaborate on the beauty I saw and the vibrations I felt but it was truly an ineffable experience. We can talk about it and try to get as close as possible. Go out and visit your National Parks!

*Railay Beach in Thailand. A magical place where I got to rock climb the healing limestone cliffs, swim with bioluminescent plankton, hike through the jungle and explore the beautiful nature. Get in touch with the oneness of the universe with interconnections of mushrooms. Spend time with the locals who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Making new connections with people that are now lifelong friends. Being in a place with truly no worries, enjoying every moment. Going to the moon and back, where the motto is "Why Not?" cause every opportunity in life should be seized. I thank the universe for this and am grateful.

*Celebrating Thanksgiving in Gili Air, Lombok, Indonesia. It started with 1 American wanting to celebrate this American tradition while on travels to feel a little bit of home and bring people together. Which led to people from all over the world preparing dishes and snacks to share and give thanks for life.

*Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Got the feeling of home, not where I'm from but where I belong. A feeling so rarely felt during travels. Interesting people, new friendships, motorbike adventures, a culture of yoga, healthy eating, mindfulness and spirituality, breathtaking waterfalls and the free souvenir of the well-known Bali Tattoo.

*10 day Vipassana Meditation at Dhamma Java Vipassana Meditation Centre in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. This will have to be talked about in person since words don't do it justice. Most importantly, just like anything in life it needs to be experienced. http://www.dhamma.org/ Go experience it for yourself, Be Happy! May all beings be peaceful, happy, and liberated!

More quotes (I love quotes)

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”
-Henry Ford

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails...
-1 Corinthians 13; 4-8

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

-Mark Twain

Something to consider, recognize, get inspired by when dealing with a break up or in a romantic relationship or any type of relationship for that matter, especially ones with a strong bond and may be a soulmate. I do recommend you read this book and all of Brian L Weiss books.

You will not always marry your most strongly bonded soulmate. There may be more than one for you because soul families travel together. You might choose to marry a less bonded soul companion, one who has something specific to teach you or to learn from you. Your recognition of a soulmate may occur later in life after both of you are already committed to your present life families. Or your strongest soulmate connection maybe to your parent, or to your child, or to your sibling. Or your strongest connection maybe to a soulmate who has not incarnated during your lifetime and who is watching over you from the other side, like a guardian angel.

Sometimes your soulmate is willing and available. He or she might recognize the passion and the chemistry between you, the intimate and subtle bonds that imply connections over many lifetimes. Yet he or she may be toxic for you. It is a matter of soul development.

If one soul is less developed and more ignorant than the other, trait of violence, greed, jealousy, hatred, and fear might be brought into the relationship. These tendencies are toxic to the more evolved soul, even if from a soulmate. Frequently rescue fantasies arise with the thought, I can change him; I can help her grow. If he does not allow your help, if in her free will she chooses not to learn, not to grow, the relationship is doomed. Perhaps there will be another chance in another lifetime, unless he awakens later in this one. Late awakenings do happen.

Sometimes soulmates decide not to get married while incarnated. They arrange to meet, to stay together until the agreed task is completed, and then to move on. Their agendas, their lesson plans for the entirety of this life, are different, and they do not want to or need to spend the entire lifetime together. This is not a tragedy, only a matter of learning. You have eternal life together, but sometimes you may need to take separate classes.

A soulmate who is available but unawakened is a tragic figure and can cause you great anguish. Unawakened means that he or she does not sees life clearly, is not aware of the many levels of existence. Unawakened means not knowing of about the souls. Usually it is the everyday mind that prevents awakening.

We hear the excuses of the mind all the time: I am too young; I need more experience; I am not ready to settle down yet; you are of a different religion (or race, region, social status, intellectual level, cultural background, and so on). They are all excuses, for soul possess none of these attributes.

The person may recognize the chemistry. The attraction is definitely there, but the source of chemistry is not understood. It is delusional to believe that this passion, this soul recognition and attraction, will be easily found again in another person. You do not run into such a soulmate every day, perhaps only one or two more in a lifetime.

Divine grace may reward a good heart, a loving soul.

Never worry about meeting soulmates. Such meetings are a matter of destiny. They will occur. After the meeting, the freewill of both partners reigns. What decisions are made or not made are a matter of freewill, of choice. The less awakened will make the decisions based on the mind and all of it fears and prejudices. Unfortunately, this often leads to heartache. The more awakened the couple is, the more the likelihood of a decision based on love. When both partners are awakened, ecstasy is within their grasp.

~Excerpts from “Only Love Is Real; The Story of Soulmates Reunited” by Dr. Brian Weiss~

Favorite Poem

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.
It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

"They're made out of meat."

"Meat. They're made out of meat."

"There's no doubt about it. We picked up several from different parts of the planet, took them aboard our recon vessels, and probed them all the way through. They're completely meat."

"That's impossible. What about the radio signals? The messages to the stars?"

"They use the radio waves to talk, but the signals don't come from them. The signals come from machines."

"So who made the machines? That's who we want to contact."

"They made the machines. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Meat made the machines."

"That's ridiculous. How can meat make a machine? You're asking me to believe in sentient meat."

"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. These creatures are the only sentient race in that sector and they're made out of meat."

"Maybe they're like the orfolei. You know, a carbon-based intelligence that goes through a meat stage."

"Nope. They're born meat and they die meat. We studied them for several of their life spans, which didn't take long. Do you have any idea what's the life span of meat?"

"Spare me. Okay, maybe they're only part meat. You know, like the weddilei. A meat head with an electron plasma brain inside."

"Nope. We thought of that, since they do have meat heads, like the weddilei. But I told you, we probed them. They're meat all the way through."

"No brain?"

"Oh, there's a brain all right. It's just that the brain is made out of meat! That's what I've been trying to tell you."

"So ... what does the thinking?"

"You're not understanding, are you? You're refusing to deal with what I'm telling you. The brain does the thinking. The meat."

"Thinking meat! You're asking me to believe in thinking meat!"

"Yes, thinking meat! Conscious meat! Loving meat. Dreaming meat. The meat is the whole deal! Are you beginning to get the picture or do I have to start all over?"

"Omigod. You're serious then. They're made out of meat."

"Thank you. Finally. Yes. They are indeed made out of meat. And they've been trying to get in touch with us for almost a hundred of their years."

"Omigod. So what does this meat have in mind?"

"First it wants to talk to us. Then I imagine it wants to explore the Universe, contact other sentiences, swap ideas and information. The usual."

"We're supposed to talk to meat."

"That's the idea. That's the message they're sending out by radio. 'Hello. Anyone out there. Anybody home.' That sort of thing."

"They actually do talk, then. They use words, ideas, concepts?"
"Oh, yes. Except they do it with meat."

"I thought you just told me they used radio."

"They do, but what do you think is on the radio? Meat sounds. You know how when you slap or flap meat, it makes a noise? They talk by flapping their meat at each other. They can even sing by squirting air through their meat."

"Omigod. Singing meat. This is altogether too much. So what do you advise?"

"Officially or unofficially?"

"Officially, we are required to contact, welcome and log in any and all sentient races or multibeings in this quadrant of the Universe, without prejudice, fear or favor. Unofficially, I advise that we erase the records and forget the whole thing."

"I was hoping you would say that."

"It seems harsh, but there is a limit. Do we really want to make contact with meat?"

"I agree one hundred percent. What's there to say? 'Hello, meat. How's it going?' But will this work? How many planets are we dealing with here?"

"Just one. They can travel to other planets in special meat containers, but they can't live on them. And being meat, they can only travel through C space. Which limits them to the speed of light and makes the possibility of their ever making contact pretty slim. Infinitesimal, in fact."

"So we just pretend there's no one home in the Universe."

"That's it."

"Cruel. But you said it yourself, who wants to meet meat? And the ones who have been aboard our vessels, the ones you probed? You're sure they won't remember?"

"They'll be considered crackpots if they do. We went into their heads and smoothed out their meat so that we're just a dream to them."

"A dream to meat! How strangely appropriate, that we should be meat's dream."

"And we marked the entire sector unoccupied."

"Good. Agreed, officially and unofficially. Case closed. Any others? Anyone interesting on that side of the galaxy?"

"Yes, a rather shy but sweet hydrogen core cluster intelligence in a class nine star in G445 zone. Was in contact two galactic rotations ago, wants to be friendly again."

"They always come around."

"And why not? Imagine how unbearably, how unutterably cold the Universe would be if one were all alone ..."
