About Me
Hey there!
I'm Michael from Germany!
My last trip was a gap year traveling Japan, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. That was the first occasion on which I did Couchsurfing and made a ton of great experiences. Soon, I will start stuying Renewable Energies in Germany.
I am open minded and easy going (I bet you've never read that sentence before). I'm a rather quiet guy who is probably overthinking. I value being by myself, but I also like to spend time with people, exchange thoughts and cultures.
Trying to be grateful for the little and self-evident things in live. Practicing self-awareness and sustainability.
Also, I am vegan, hope that is not a problem for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing gives one the advantage of meeting interesting people, sharing thoughts and learning new things. It is a way to connect to people, find differences and similarites in culture and thoughts. It enables one to grow personally! That is one of the main reasons why I travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to classical music and Jazz. However, I enjoy listening to anything crafted by a true artist.
As for books, currently reading all of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.
My favourite show is Avatar: The Last Airbender
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have walked an old trading path called the Nakasendo from Tokyo to Kyoto. It took 500km and 20 days, during which I encountered many great and interesting people and learned about the real Japan, not the tourist version.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am easy to handle, can be quiet and am generally open minded. If you host me, I will be very grateful for having a roof to sleep under and will try to match your conditions as good as I can!
Apart from that, not much, unfortunately. Maybe some interesting talks or piano teaching, if you happen to have one around and don't know how to play it.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Cambodia, Croatia, Egypt, Italy, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
