Overview
About Me
Hi all! I’m Michael. I’m a born and raised Tennessean and an avid traveler. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to 15 different countries but somehow just recently found out about Couchsurfing. Most of my travels have been solo trips but as the late Christopher McCandless says, “Happiness is only real when shared”. I love all my solo trips but I would really like to meet a lot of you. I'm starting to plan a trip out west and I'm looking to make some friends on here to make the trip longer and more affordable.
Most of my travel has been to Europe and I’m ready to see what all the US has to offer.
I’m an easy going guy and always willing to have a constructive conversation. I love all things sports, especially my Nashville Predators. I love the outdoors and I would love suggestions or companions on good hiking trips. I went to college at Tennessee Tech and graduated with a degree in Economics followed by a 6 year career in banking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to try and see as much of the world as I can on a budget. I’ve recently left my banking job to finish remodeling my house to sell and to search for something a little more fulfilling in life when it sales.
I'd love to build some friendships, have some laughs, and learn what all your hometown has to offer.
Interests
Travel is my life but I really enjoy hiking, playing all sports, kayaking, playing guitar and pretty much everything in between.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not much of a teacher but I'm always willing to learn. I am always willing to have constructive conversation about whatever topic. I would really love to learn about different cultures and lifestyles.
"If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food. It's a plus for everybody." -Anthony Bordain
