About Me

I recently graduated college and I am trying to cram as much joy and excitement into my life while I still can. To that effect, I am going on a grand tour of the world before returning to America and getting a 'real job'. I am documenting my journey and hope to share experiences with all the unique people I meet along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet as many people as I can while traveling. I found out about this website back in 2014 but haven't had the opportunity to travel until now. I am very grateful to this website for giving me this unique travel experience.

Interests

I try to expose myself to as many new things as possible, both experiences and ideas. If someone is passionate about a topic, then I love listening to them and learning everything they have to offer. Politics, philosophy, science, music... it doesn't really matter to me just as long as we can discuss with respect for each other.

I think physical fitness is essential for maximizing happiness and try to go to the gym every day. That may not be possible during this trip, but I always try to find some way to exercise just for the energy it gives me.

I have a budding interest in martial arts. I wrestled in high school, but want to learn more about jiu-jitsu and muay thai.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music depends on the situation. For studying or other tasks that require concentration I like to listen to something with a steady beat like trance or other types of EDM.

When working out at the gym, I think it is difficult to beat hard rock and metal for getting pumped up to attack the weights.

Teach, Learn, Share

I won't be home for a few years. My plan is to travel, staying with people who use couchsurfing.com when possible and finding other accommodations such as Airbnb, hostels, or hotels, when not. As such, I will not be able to consistently host anyone. However, I will be trying to keep my itinerary up to date on this website. If you are looking for a place to stay in the same city and I am staying in a hotel, I would be more than happy to share the room for as long as I have it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I studied computer engineering in college and really have a passion for technology, specifically information security. If you have an interest in this subject, I can discuss it endlessly and share what I have learned. Otherwise, I can probably help fix whatever computer issues you might have ;)

Besides that, I make a great conversation partner. I love to share my experiences and ideas with the people I meet.

I also am learning Russian. I am not proficient, but if you are interested I can teach what I have learned so far.
