About Me

I’m a father of three, currently on a 30-day cross-country adventure with my 18-year-old son, Seth. We left our home in Kentucky on foot with only a backpack, a phone, and a mission to work odd jobs, meet amazing people, and make it to Florida. I’ve run my own business for years and love connecting with others through stories, service, and shared experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m traveling with my son on a minimalist journey across the U.S.—our goal is to meet new people, do good work, and experience real-life hospitality. We’re not just looking for a place to stay—we’re looking to connect.

Interests

I’m an adventurous soul with a deep love for people, stories, and unexpected experiences. I recently set out on a cross-country journey with my son, traveling by foot and odd jobs, with nothing but our backpacks and a sense of curiosity. Whether it’s working on a farm, delivering food, helping with pets, or pitching in on a construction site, I find joy in honest work and connecting with others along the way. I’ve run a family-owned car business for years, but right now, I’m embracing the freedom of the road and teaching my son what it means to chase adventure and earn your way with kindness and grit.

Beyond the practical side, I’m a fan of real conversations, home-cooked meals, and late-night laughs. I love learning about how other people live and finding common ground in unexpected places. I’ve got a soft spot for dogs, a knack for fixing things, and a deep respect for hospitality—both giving and receiving it. If you’re up for swapping stories, sharing a simple meal, or just offering a place to recharge, I’d be honored to connect. I always travel light and leave things better than I found them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m into anything with depth and clever humor—Forrest Gump, Catch Me If You Can, The Greatest Showman. I like true stories and good one-liners. Music ranges from acoustic to soulful Americana. I’m always up for a good road-trip playlist or podcast about people doing wild things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been to all 50 states and most more than once. Started a business from scratch and built it over 10 years—then took a month off to go full hobo with my kid 😀

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic pet training, small business startup tips, and creative hustle strategies. I’d love to learn more about local culture, cooking, and community-building. I love sharing stories, helping out, and connecting through honest conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, positive energy, and deep appreciation for the space. I’m a respectful guest who leaves things clean and takes care not to disrupt your routine. If there’s a way I can help out — moving something, running an errand, or just sharing a story or laugh — I’m happy to contribute however I can.
