I grew up in Utah, and moved to Pennsylvania for graduate school. I love to travel and meet new people. I have lots of great stories, and love to hear them from others. I enjoy doing things outdoors, but I also enjoy doing things like board and card games. I have previously competed ballroom dance competitively and am trying to start up again soon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people, and traveling. I will be doing some international travel this summer and I would like to meet some locals to provide some good insight to the best local things to do. I also wouldn't mind finding a place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music. Not much I don't enjoy or won't listen to for a while at least. Been on an electroswing kick lately, Parov Stellar mostly. I also enjoy classical, classic rock, funk and jazz.

Some of my favorite books have been from Jon Lindqvist. LoTR is a classic. I'm looking for recommendations on a good mystery novel, or a good historical fiction if you have any ideas. Also I finished reading "Surely you must be joking Mr. Feynman". What an interesting person.

Some of my favorite movies: Dreams (Akira Kurosawa), The Producers (new version), Cloud Atlas, Big Fish, Anything Ghibli.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of experience cooking, and would love to share my skills, food, etc. My father is Japanese, so I spent time growing up learning to cook Japanese. I can also cook a variety of other foods too, I've been learning some various Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Mexican dishes. Also science.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fun evening with lots of interesting conversation. If it was more than a night, I would love to cook for you. I would also be happy to buy you a drink or dinner instead.
