Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where I spent the first 23 years of my life. After graduating college, I moved around the midwest a couple more times for my employer. In March 2016 I moved down to New Orleans and absolutely love it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My older sister (who lives in Ohio) is having her destination wedding in Hilton Head in June. Being the traveller I am, I wanted to make the most of this trip from a cultural standpoint while paying respect to a budget.
I've been wanting to get this app for a while to allow traveling to the remaining US cities on my bucket list (San Diego, Miami, Charleston/Savannah, and Houston) a reality.
Music, Movies, and Books
I pride myself on my musical palette. Coming from the midwest, I grew up on country music. Going to college, I learned every club jam from the 80's onward. Living in New Orleans, live music and world-class musicians surrounds me every day. I've been to at least 50 concerts including Shania Twain, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foo Fighters, and Chainsmokers.
It's actually a bucket list item of mine to watch the top 100 movies of all time... So far I may have seen 1 or 2 of them...
I read, but mostly for academic or non-fiction purposes. One of my favorite books is The Boys In The Boat- a book about the 1936 US Olympic Rowing Team in the face of Hitler's rise to power in the Berlin Olympics. (And yes, I travelled to Seattle to see the exact boat featured in this book)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rowing Crew in college was one of the most formative and enriching experiences I've ever had.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an avid traveller. The past 7+ years I've travelled to just about every corner of the country while somehow managing to maintain a career that my dad can be proud of. I'm a huge sports fan, enjoy discovering local cuisine, and being in the outdoors. I'm largely independent and can utilize technology to find things to do in the area. I'm predominantly looking for a convenient place to rest up.
