I live a quiet suburban life. I like to get out when I can to see interesting places and meet different people. I have lived in several places in the USA. I hope I may live and work in another country for a year or 2, but so far....I haven't made it happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Personally I'd love to travel around the country and world staying at peoples homes. In the mean time, I'm enjoying bringing people from around the world to me! One way to meet people from around the world is to have them come to my home :-) I have set my status to maybe accepting because June and July seem to be very full for me this year, with several family members coming to stay with us, so my ability to accept guests is spotty for the next couple months.

Interests

I like going to the movies. I am a news junky and follow politics. I try to travel on small extended weekends often and then do a large vacation ever few years. I have been to Southeast Asia, South Korea, Scandinavia, Russia and Moldova.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like crime novels and have recently been reading the Harry Hole novels by Jo Nesbo. I like to listen to podcasts on history, in particular Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. I enjoy live theater and travel to New York every few years to catch some Broadway shows. All time favorite for theater is Phantom of the Opera, an oldie but a goodie. Music I'm partial to 70's and 80's rock, but listen to just about anything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving in Nevada! Most people gamble when they are in Vegas, I figured I'd gamble with more than my money.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow, not sure what to put here. We are fortunate enough to live in the time and place we do. My hardest, worst day, is so much better than the typical day of 99% of those who came before me, and of a large proportion of the people alive today. So, don't complain, don't envy, set your goals and strive for greatness, but remember, the journey is the thing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am relatively quiet, unassuming, middle age suburbanite who likes to get out and travel when I can. If you hosted me, I could be quiet temporary house guests that you don't even know is there. I could also be someone to share a meal with, drink a glass of wine with, have a laugh and learn about someone new and different.
