About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To complete our reconnaissance of Europe, and return to settle down on our own land.

ABOUT ME

My girlfriend Kaitlin and I are on a tour of Europe. We have spent 3 months visiting 16 countries. Small roads, small towns and tent camping are how we connected with each place. We visited friends, shared skills, worked on building houses, improving gardens, and generally shared our friendship with anyone we met. We like the country more than the big cities, but have taken the time to experience many of Europe's beautiful capitals.

PHILOSOPHY

I enjoy connecting with people very muchly. I enjoy listening as much as talking, and leaving a situation better than I found it. I'm not generally afraid of new things, and so I find myself eyes open, and waiting to see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by asking for permission, and then jumping right in. I value politeness and seeing what people are comfortable with. I like both the supporting roles and the leadership roles. In short term situations, I enjoy feeling the satisfaction of doing the labor that makes everyone's job easier, as it is all the same to me in a sense.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my home in Eugene, the homeowner is a member of the dance community (blues, ballroom, tango, etc). These people have been couchsurfing for years! I am quite used to waking up in the morning and finding new people to share breakfast with.
I am a member of the Aikido community, and have spent a few nights on other Aikidoist's couch during seminars.

Interests

Travel, Aikido, Self sufficiency, Inventing, Learning new skills, being challenged in a compassionate but tough environment, real communication between people.
