About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I wanna see everything this world has to offer!

ABOUT ME

Love to travel! I'm a cool-tempered dude, and love to laugh or get into deep conversations about life, art, science or anything!... Also very serious about work and school. Been stuck in Kansas a while though, and I'm desperate to get out and see the world!

PHILOSOPHY

I think it's important to acknowledge that we only have a limited amount of time in life, and it would be a damn shame not to see and experience as much of this world as we can in the time we've got. I believe strongly in personal responsibility, and I also think it's important to reflect often on our beliefs and how we're living our life. "The unexamined life is not worth living."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to couch surfing, but I love the sense of worldwide community that CS creates. I'm interested in being a surfer and host alike!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All I've got right now are stories from friends, but I'm looking forward to having some of my own experiences to share soon!

Interests

Oh god, I have a wide array of interests, but a few things that come to mind are:

Drawing and Painting
Acting on stage or on film
Movies
Creating Characters/doing accents
Physics and Engineering (particularly Aerospace -- My major)
Discussions of Philosophy, Economics, Psychology or anything like that!
Getting to see historical artwork, artifacts, or architecture (love museums!)
Playing Music--I'm not very good, but I like to sing and play guitar, violin, and (sometimes) harmonica

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite movies are classics, others are widely acknowledged as B-grade, but a few that come to mind are: Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, The Princess Bride, Sword in the Stone, Bedazzled, Shanghai Noon, Spaghetti westerns, Star Wars (originals, of course)

I also dig adventure novels and detective stories (raymond chandler, dashiell hammett), and my music taste ranges from CCR to John Williams to Gipsy Kings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in high school I had one of the lead parts in the play "Noises Off." Our show was adjudicated and was invited to perform at State Thespian Conference. As if performing in front of 2000 peers at the State Conference wasn't thrilling enough, we were THEN invited to perform at the INTERNATIONAL Thespian Festival. Being one of 10 shows from the US, Canada, and Mexico was awesome, and coming out on stage and seeing that immense theater filled with worldwide students there to see our show was breathtaking.

When I was 19 I decided I had had enough of living in Kansas and never getting to travel. With less than a little planning I decided "to hell with it" and I jumped in the car and drove to Los Angeles. I drove for two days straight through Colorado, the Rockies, Utah desert, Las Vegas and finally arrived in LA on the second night just in time to walk down to the beach and watch the sun set over the Pacific. It was the first time I'd ever seen an ocean and it couldn't have been more perfect.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a hell of a lot about college algebra, but I doubt many people are too interested haha..

I'd also be happy to give pointers on figure sketching, oil painting, or acting. Although really that would have to be more of a conversation ABOUT those things, as in my opinion they are more philosophical skills than something you could take a class on.

Some things I would love to learn that come to mind are Rock Climbing and Sailing. Not much of either back in Kansas!
