ABOUT ME
He's a do'er! Always working or getting things done. A man of action. Committed, determined, passionate, enthusiastic, loyal. Crazy (but in the positive sense?).
Interests
My work is immersed in community projects. This work is inspiring for me, brings me closer to those in my surrounding neighborhood, and provides a true sense of purpose. When I first arrived in Buffalo, NY, six years ago, I was struck by the vacancy issue. The cities solution was to perform mass demolitions. From my past experience as a contractor, I knew that there was useful material in those houses, and I figured there had to be a better way. We assembled a team from folks in the city, and started a not for profit that went on to recycle houses, offer salvaged materials for sale to a low cost for the community, and created a neighborhood development arm that planted trees and created green spaces as a long term strategy for community stabilization. I seem to find projects like this wherever I live, and since I've moved around a bit, I've been involved in several different efforts. All very inspiring and focused on positive social change.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Its a long story, but I was volunteering with Hospice Care in China, and one particular man that I had an interaction with left a lasting impression.
I led a leadership development course in Arizona, and our crew constructed an amazing structure out of stone, under a very tight timeline, and finished just as our program was concluding. The team work and effort put forth was incredible.
Our team dismantled a house for the show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, in Buffalo, NY. We had over 100 volunteers working on the project and completed the dismantlement in 15 hours, at the conclusion I was both awestruck and delirious
