About Me

Hey there!

My name is Michael and I live in Munich, Germany.

Currently, I am a PhD student in the field of genetics and (I have to admit) pretty addicted to biomedical research and science in general. So, I also never mind some nerdy talks.

In general, I'm a very relaxed person, open-minded, accept everyone for who they are and I like to do funny or stupid stuff which brings me out of my comfort zone. I love traveling and exploring new cities and countries and especially meeting new people. My day always starts with a one-hour meditation in the morning which has proven to have a huge impact on my well being.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting new people and love to hear their life story.

I actually have created my Couchsurfing account years ago and intended to use CS, however, I always ended up in hostels while traveling and just meeting other travels there (which wasn't too bad). But now, I'm pretty determined and looking forward to gaining my first CS experiences, especially to get also connected to local people.

So I am looking forward to my first trip and hope I can also host some surfers in the future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hiking on a volcano in Indonesia after I completed a 10-day meditation retreat. Due to that my leg muscles were almost completely gone and already felt physically exhausted after 2 hrs and I was not sure if I could make it to the top. However, on the other hand, the meditation retreat gave me the ability to really accept the pain and still enjoy the hike. After 7 hours I reached the crater and although I felt nauseous, it was probably one of the happiest moments I had.
