ABOUT ME

i'd like to dismiss personality tests, but when i have taken the Jung-Myers-Briggs tests in the past, i have always scored at the extreme end of the ENJF (Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging)--the "natural pedagogue." it irks me that the descriptions of ENJF pretty much nail me perfectly: i am absurdly enthusiastic and can lose myself in the moment. i am a narcissist and i think i can solve every problem if you just let me make all the decisions. i weep when people tell me sad stories (on the inside, of course) and take deep pleasure in the the success of others. i cannot sit still for even a moment (that's why i garden, fish, and play piano). i am hyper-verbal, able to think of 100 new ways to do one thing and incapable of deciding which is best. i am impatient with fools but loving and forgiving of students. my office is always filled with students and colleagues and i can never get ANYTHING done there. if i am not in the center of everything i am miserable... but somehow i am also condescending and capable of awful fits of pique and spite.
