ABOUT ME

HELLO! I my name is Michael, I am from a small town about 45 minutes away from San Francisco in CAlifornia, United States. I have been playing Drums from a young age and enjoy the outdoors and sports as well. I am a very responsible 21 year old Male. I have much respect for all styles of music but find my self playing Jazz, R&B, Pop and Afro Cuban music. I began studying at the Berklee College of music in 2010 when i was 18 years old and for the past 2 years have been studying Afro-Cuban music from the yoruba region of africa. I have traveled to cuba extensively studying with members of Afro Cuba de Matanzas and Los Munequitos de Matanzas, the two top folklore groups in Matanzas, Cuba where ancient african tranditions from the Congolese and Yoruba(Nigeria) have been preserved. I am very open minded and interested in learning about other cultures and meeting new people!

I have never formally couch surfed through this website, but i have stayed with at other peoples houses temporarily while traveling many times so i must say the most enjoyable experiences have been when i had opportunities to make connections with the people who open up their homes to me, you help me I help you .
