About Me

I'm a down-to-earth kinda guy, but I do get very easily excited about stuff. I live for new perspectives on life and nothing would sadden me more than if I had the whole world all figured out. I believe the key to a fulfilling life is embracing the uncertainty of it. Travelling, sharing and collaborating with as many different people of different cultural and professional backgrounds is a certain way to keep an open mind.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to be contradicted and have any preconception erased.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is how you travel of course! Who wants impersonal hostels or hotels? People travel to get new perspectives right, ain't no better place to find that, than on the couch of a local hospitable stranger.

Interests

I'm an open-minded person, and i can find just about anything interesting as long as it is presented by someone who shows an authentic passion for whatever that thing is.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: QOTSA, SOAD, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, James Blake , Portugal. The Man, Jungle, Steppenwolf, The Eagles, Arcade fire, Miike Snow, The Middle East, Debussy. You name it. Most anything really.

Movies: I'm a huge movie geek, seen most everything. But if it's favorites it's: The great Beauty, American Beauty, Revolver, Lord of the rings, The Square, The Matrix, Dances with wolves, Inglorious Basterds, Youth and Green mile.

Books: Otto Scharmer, Alan Watts, Henry D. Thoreau, Haruki Murakami, Ken Wilber, George Gurdjief, Albert Camus, C.G Jung, Frank Herbert, Søren Kierkegaard, Jes Bertelsen, George Orwell, H.P Lovercraft, Tolkien, kinda all over, but existentialism is my jam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last winter i was in Japan for five weeks urban-camping in Kyoto and Tokyo cause we didn't have money for hostels. Tried to bike from Kyoto to Fukuoka on lady bikes without gears, but when our tent got stolen and the cold hit properly, we took a plane to Taiwan. Stayed there for three weeks, and had a blast, then fled the cold yet again to Thailand where we, in best naive tourist manner, got scammed into buying a three-week adventure package through half the country. Ended up being awesome, but oh boy, tears into wallets were shed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy cooking immensely, so if it could be of interest i could cook some European, Danish, American, Japanese Italian dishes for ya.

Lately i enjoy having conversations about creating sustainable solutions for the future within any sector, be it education, agriculture, politics, technology you have it. I have a very humanistic spin on all of these topics, would love to be contradicted or challenged on it. Always enjoy a good discussion.

I'm very good at English and i have some experience teaching as a temp teacher in my town's different schools. I have also taught Japanese exchange students at my folkhighschool some English as well as danish

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been in event management for years now, so i tend to make things happen if the desire is there. But i am also a big fan of just chilln' with some tea, and good company.

I can also share stories of all the ridiculous customs we have in my country. When it gets cold and cloudy 80% of the year, people get weird.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
