About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The mission of finding the mission.

ABOUT ME

I have such diverse interests. Life has so many subtleties and so much nuance to it that I try my best to experience these infinite details and gather some kind of perspective with which to go on living in this ultimately beautiful and mysterious world. I love nature, art and community.

I think read write sketch sense talk dance whistle wow sing sketch move shimmy climb swim and study.

I was lucky to have been raised in a great family. We taught each other laughter and happiness. I have always learned best from my own experiences, but have shared many after many after many that were only partly mine, or not mine at all, by virtue of my lovely friends and family that I have been so fortunate to have in my life.

All this has given me a kind of curiosity and patience and great interest in EVERYTHING. Life intrigues me, and to be alive feels amazing.

PHILOSOPHY

Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I share my space and life when I am home...when I have a home. I work a lot of seasonal jobs and consequentially am not able to host as much as I would like to. Sharing is one of my favorite things and I look forward to a time when I can be the one providing, returning all the generosity that has been given me. I ask to be hosted from time to time when I need a safe place to be while abroad and without a home. I occasionally go to CS group meetings to just say hello and give thanks to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thus far, it's been very positive. Amazing hosts and hostesses are in this network. I can't even begin to express the generosity of these lovely people. They will change the world with their big hearts and make it into something prosperous and warm with compassion.

Interests

A think a more specific question would be 'What does NOT interest you?'

To list a few: Nature, sustainability, permaculture, art - (songwriting, poetry/prose, doodling, most things), listening to music, visiting museums, athleticism - (hiking, kayaking, disc golf, billiards, yoga, parkour, most things), nutrition, health, laughing, friendship, conversing with friends, community building, public spaces, learning, teaching, helping/volunteering, reading, wandering, traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I, along with three of my friends, against all odds, armed with only random rubber boots and empty garbage cups as water vessels and a happenstance water source nearby, stopped a flooded engine that caught on fire in the hood of an ancient work truck in the golden rolling hills of California and was spreading to the dry grasses in the middle of miles and miles of more dry grasses, in the height of a drought of many years. We somehow put it out before the fire spread and really made a phenomenal mess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach and love teaching those who want to be taught. Some things I might be able to work with on are: singing, whistling, writing, laughing, exploring, plant identification, languages, reading, cooking...

I will gladly learn anything there is to learn, as long as either I, or the teacher, are passionate and interested in it...

Sharing is one of the foundations of life. It is what makes the world go around and it is what help us to thrive as a species as we continue to evolve...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have quite a few skills, I'm not sure what will be most applicable here, but I can cook, clean, garden, transport, shop, laugh, play music, dance. I will gladly do whatever I can to help my hosts.
