CURRENT MISSION

I have three goals in life: fist is 'making my parents proud'. Second is 'seeing as much of the world as posible (learning about other cultures)'. And third 'creating my own family'.

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Michael and there are a hell of lot things I love in life, especially traveling and being on the Road. By traveling I come closer to myself, which kind of person I am and which things in life I appreciate most. I come from a very loving family who support me in everything I do. I like to listen to other people's stories and how they become the persons they are. Which events changed them.

PHILOSOPHY

Camus claimed that the only true philosophical question was suicide. Namely: we should take our life or more intensively we should simply kill ourselves ? Camus argued that historically the majority of people believed that life is meaningless and concluded in favor of suicide , or a kind of artificial meaning as religion have created to fill their lives. Camus claims that there is a third option : we can realize that life is meaningless and nevertheless keep ourselves alive . People who choose this third option are absurd heroes . The Rebel , Don Juan and the Artist are three figures that Camus identifies as absurd heroes . Each of these people find meaning in his or her activities / life . As they live the example of the Greek mythological figure Sisyphus , who was condemned to forever roll up a boulder up a hill, fully aware of the fact that the boulder would fall simply back down as soon as he had finished his task. But don't stop there, always try and get the boulder moving again !

Interests

My interests are quit broad, only sports don't tend to interest me a lot. My hobbies are playing some basketball, riding my old school motorcycles, being together with my family and being happy. Scandinavia interests me a lot too, cause I've been an exchange student for a year in Norway which still is the best experience ever.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch all kinds of movies, but the movies I like the most, are movies with a message. The ones that make you feel really small and proud of what people could achieve. I love scandinavian, Fantasy, comedies, Romantic, science-fiction, etc movies. examples Gran torino, the Hobbit, Lord of the rings trilogy, Harry Potter, så som i Himmelen, into the wild, ...

The same goes for Music, from classical music and movie music to dubstep and drum and bass. The kind of music I listen the most is music like Mumford and sons. As long as people don't bother me with screaming music, death metal or Hardcore, I am a happy person.

I love reading a lot, at the moment I am trying to complete the list of forbidden books or most famous books like The god delusion, gullivers travels, madame bovary, lady chatterly's lover, satanic verses, etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been skydiving in Eloy, Arizona in the US where I got my license. Been to the everglades on the airboates. Seen the taj Mahal in Agra, been hiking in the Himalya's, Rafting on the sanskar river in india. Been a year in the beautiful country of Norway. Learned to speak fluent Norwegian.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people all about the dutch and belgian history. About the dutch language but also everything you want to know about the fairy tale countries of scandinavia. And since I am studying to become officer in the navy, i can tell about the rich culture of the netherlands navy history.

I'm pretty much interested in everything from History or philosopy to fysics or chemistry. The only thing I don't tend to like are sports.
