Laíza and I are traveling to stay together and not overstay limits on visas as we wait to hear back from our US visa application to get married in the US! Shes is Carioca (from Rio de Janeiro) I grew up in the TwinCities, lived in NYC for 4 years and then have been traveling abroad for the last 4 years.
Because we are currently having to bounce around... We are not able to host unfortunately. But hopefully soon!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I find it a good way to see what daily life is like in most places. I have been bouncing around for so long I haven't been in a position to host but I hope to soon. Especially for fellow climbers or even to just offer a free shower to campers/dirtbag climbers.
I've met people from all over the world either by hosting or being hosted... Have mostly gone to the weekly couchsurfing meet ups in cities around the world to meet hosts and make friends/learn some of a new language when showing up in a new country... I haven't used it as much since Laiza and I have been traveling as a couple but in the past it has been such a great resource.

Blues, jazz, rock, hip hop, samba... Many sub genres. Reading Debt: the first 5,000 years. Favorite book is probably Slaughterhouse Five. The World Without Us / Countdown are two correlated books that I found very interesting and thought stimulating. For movies I really like Park Chan Woo films lately.

Laiza is a big Harry Potter fan. Jorge Amado, Fernando Sabino...

We want to share our time and adventures with other fun people in hopes of lasting friendships. Laíza's expertise is in Information and Librarianship. She also makes beautiful Brazilian sweets/baked goods. I would be happy to belay for people, I often find myself itching to climb and being somewhere beautiful with no one else around to ask. I love to take photos and if you wanted some cool shots for something I would be happy to assist. One of my main goals is to continue earning certifications and experience with scuba diving.

Cup of coffee, a good conversation, a story, an adventure, a laugh... Laiza is less adventurous... but if you need a partner for an adventure many people have said that if they were ever stuck in a desperate situation in the woods/traveling...etc. I would be the 1 person they would hope to have with them. haha
