About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of this amazing place as I can and to hopefully be smiling for most of it.

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, goofy, quick-witted kind of guy, who loves the outdoors, fluffy animals, music from the 80's, crass/crude jokes and any adventure you can throw my way. I'm passionate about travel and all of the organic experiences and relationships it creates.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm trying to worry about both the present and the future, but I'm finding that hard to accomplish. I've given up a lot over the last few years in order to go on some dream trips and these have been the most rewarding decisions of my life.

One of my favorites...You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created an account a few years ago and intended on using the forum to meet all sorts of amazing people while I traveled the world in 2013. Instead I met said amazing people by staying in hostels and spending lots of my hard-earned moolah =). Last year I attended the World Cup in Brazil and I finally popped my couchsurfing cherry with an AMAZING family in Sao Paulo =P.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can only base my experience on surfers I've met while traveling. They have all shared a similar passion for globe trekking and have been some of the most rewarding friendships I've made thus far in life.

Interests

Hiking, climbing, reading, sports (especially soccer), traveling, movie-going, nerdy things, art, etsy-ing, road-tripping, finding great deals and staying up all night chatting with strangers =).

Duncan, Third Eye Blind, Ratatat, Stereophonics, Foster the People, David Gray, Guster, Phoenix, The Shins, Death Cab, Genesis, Sufjan Stevens, Groove Armada, Dishwalla, Arcade Fire, Oasis, John Mayer, etc.

I'm a huge movie buff and will watch just about anything, although I have a hard time getting into westerns.

I'm kind of a nerd / little kid when it comes to reading...Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Anything Shel Silverstein, The Kingkiller Chronicles, 007, Lemony Snicket, The Bartemaeus Trilogy, The Hunger Games, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cliche answer, but too many to name. At the top of the list though, watching the sunrise on Mt. Fuji, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Aconcagua and Mt. Nemrut, rough-housing with tiger cubs, spending my birthday on the back of an ostrich, playing beach soccer with local Masai in Zanzibar, cartwheeling on the beach in Rio during the World Cup and many, many more...
