About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a Canadian who loves doing and trying new things. Completely obsessed with puns and coffee, love good food and drink. Always looking to meet new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be open minded and do new things because I'm fortunate enough to have the health and means to make it happen. Being an interesting person with good stories to tell is super important to me. I try not to take life too seriously, humor and looking on the lighter side of things is a huge part of my life. I can be a bit of a clown sometimes :) but I'm equally happy getting in deep discussions too.

I spend a lot of time trying to understand the world in every way I can, and getting to know people who are different than me is a huge part of that. I love discussing anything and everything, but I'm just as comfortable throwing caution to the wind and going on adventures whenever I can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a lot of traveling and had great times meeting people from Couchsurfing. I've never hosted anyone or been a guest (only met Couchsurfers while at home and abroad), but I'd love something more personal and authentic.

What sealed the deal for me was spending a while in Istanbul. I was photographing something unexpectedly awesome (I admit it was a creative public trash can and truck disposing of it, but it was the coolest one I've ever seen). Happened to see another couple photographing the exact same thing. We strike up a conversation, turns out they live in Istanbul and we end up hanging out for the rest of my time in the city. Had the time of my life seeing and doing things I would never known or been able to do on my own. And now I want more. :)

Interests

Exploring cities, reading, eating, whiskey, cocktails, coffee, climbing, weightlifting, programming, watching TV, and puns. I recently won my first pun competition (yes, I am a competitive pun champion).

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Over the Edge of the World, anything by Michael Lewis (especially Liar's Poker and The New New Thing), as much history and non-fiction as I can get my hands on. I love a good story. Currently reading "The Quest" by Daniel Yergin.

Music: I like many different kinds. I like all sorts of electronic, techno/trance/triphop, some rock and alternative, and the occasional catchy pop song. Some bands: Pendulum, The Faint, Hardwell, Daft Punk, Hooverphonic, Massive Attack, Chicane, Justice, Chemical Brothers, Hybrid, Muse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping off the tallest bridge you can do it in the United States. Might not be a big deal for some, but I'm afraid of heights and have still never been on a roller coaster. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
