ABOUT ME

"Mike is a wonderful person - fun, thoughtful, spontaneous, adventurous and a diamond pal. He's had all kinds of amazing experiences; Police helicopter surveying him & friends while picnicking on the 27th floor of an abandoned skyscraper, cycling a cargo-bike 100 miles from Manchester to Birmingham, kidnapped by travellers in france whilst trying to get work on le vendange. "
- Peter Jacobson

PHILOSOPHY

I aim to leave everybody I interact with in a better place than before my time with them. I hope I'll have the courage to act in a way that will contribute to leaving the world in a better place for my being here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met with couchsurfers in madrid and in Birmingham. I also hosted two surfers who was kicked out of my friends house because his flat mate at the time wasn't comfortable with the couch surfers staying.

Interests

I'm really interested in a lot of different subjects. I love biology and animals, especially birds (my favorite being the coot because of the way they walk)... I am also really interested in music and am currently learning the piano and some music theory. I am happiest when singing and especially enjoy singing whilst cooking, food being another interest of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. I have only read Slaughterhouse 5 and Breakfast for Champions by Kurt Vonnegut but I love them. Harry Potter - got me in to reading. Game of thrones.

Music - Every bit of music has something different to give. At the moment I am listening to a lot of Shigeto and different house and electronic music (Nico Jaars boiler room mix!!), with some nostalgic music from my past to ease the transition from Summer to Winter.

Movies: I can't remember the last movie that had a profound effect on me. Four lions, Mrs Doubtfire, Alladin spring to mind as movies I have enjoyed in the past.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Iguazu falls! It was years ago now but those waterfalls truly were awesome

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a banging curry, how toplay hallelujah on the piano, how to play trick me reggae style on the guitar, and how to dance salsa like Caesar (a small colombian man that teaches his style of colombian salsa in Manchester that no one else in the world dances).
