À propos de moi

ABOUT ME

Hello everybody. My name is Michael and I am going to be in Germany for about five days. I'm a pretty nice person and because I'm a journalist I am good at keeping a conversation going and am always interested in meeting new people and finding out new things. Etc, etc.

So hit me up! I think this trip is definitely a bit too long and it would be great to have some company. I got the flights suuuper cheap!

PHILOSOPHY

I like the fact that Couchsurfing thinks I should have a philosophy. Probably would be a mix of Slayer lyrics and communism if I did have one.

Also: Keep it Country!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host anyone at the moment because I don't have a sofa. But if I ever get one it'll be available.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used couchsurfing in the past to meet up with people to do language exchanges and have found it useful for meeting other travellers. Am hoping that I will be able to stay with some local hosts now and find out a bit more about the places that I am going to visit.

Centres d'intérêt

I like to play some music (the guitar) and I like *cough* keeping up with current affairs. That is an really standard job interview-type thing to say but I guess I get a bit anxious if I feel I am out of the loop.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I like Graham Greene - his books are good.

Loving a bit of Bob Marley at the moment. Survival... what a piece of genius. Also really like listening to Irish music while I am away from home. Great for the homesickness.

Once told someone that my favourite film is falling down, which stars Michael Douglas going on an anarchic rampage through LA. That person told me that this maybe wasn't the best answer, and that instead I should say that my favourite film is the Jungle Book.

My favourite film is the Jungle Book.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I did a 'gravity drop' when I was volunteering with a charity in Derry.

I would describe it as a controlled bungee jump. I stepped off this crane with this thing on my back that slowed me down as I came to the ground.

It scared me half to death. Absolutely terrifying.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I could teach people a bit of English (I used to do it for a living) and a bit of basic guitar (very basic). Also, if anyone here is ever in Ireland I would be more than happy to show you the sites. Or tell you about them if I'm not around at that time.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I can offer a bit of money or I can bring some food or something like that. Just let me know and don't be shy.

Pays que j'ai visités
