About Me

I remembered as a kid I knew I wanted to be a scientist when I grew up. As for what kind of scientist I wanted to be? Well that was irrelevant. All I knew was I wanted to be the guy with the white lab coat. I ended up doing a biology degree, then serendipitously stumbled into geology. The biologists I met were smart, but frankly lacked the quirkiness, that depth of interpersonal connection that was such an innate fabric of my being. I flew to Newfoundland to complete my Geology degree and it is there I met a a bunch of adventurous, free-spirited, pokemon-fanatics and rocks loving people. As the only Asian-Canadian person in the Earth Science department, somehow I never felt out of place because my zest for science and understanding the earth and her processes made me feel secure and at home. As oftentimes the lone flamboyant boy in the bunch, I managed to excel because I made bloody sure that I could do anything my straight counterparts could do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Oddly enough, I have always brushed off the notion of couchsurfing. Not because I thought it was strange or dangerous per say, but my introversion often stops me leaving my comfort zone. "Do people find me interesting?" "What if I bore my guests to death with my juvenile conversation skills".

By no mean am I shy, quite the opposite. Haha

I'd love to find a couple of people who would follow me on my spontaneous trips. Go tobogganing at midnight on some isolated hill. Eat food no other people would eat. Drink wine under the moonlight in the Sahara...
