About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Write my PhD thesis

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm a freelance Polish-German-English interpreter (that's what I do for a living) and a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Warsaw. Because of my profession I travel quite a lot, mainly to Germany and Austria.

It's kind of tough to write about oneself, but other people consider me a very agreeable person, fun to have around. I'm not the kind of guy who causes trouble.

I love music. For me it's the way to deal with problems. I play the guitar and can spend hours hanging around with the instrument. I also quite enjoy singing along to it and generally any kind of activity that connects with creating music.

I spent a lot of my life abroad, I lived several years in Germany and Austria. I returned to Poland for my studies. Thus I sometimes feel estranged in my country of birth, but I'm also a curious observer of it.

To be honest, I don't really believe in written communication as far as interpersonal relations are concerned. I much rather talk to people than text them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I'm a CS beginner, the only things I know about CS is what my friends told me - that it's a great experience. I've never heard anything bad about CS at all.

Interests

- MUSIC: playing the guitar and other instruments, singing
- TALKING: I really enjoy talking to new people
- PHILOSOPHY: wondering about the world is what I do constantly
- CYCLING: is what I do every day and on holiday
- ROAD SAFETY AND TRANSPORT: I write articles about these topics and I can spend hours talking about them. Really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My trip to the USA was pretty awesome.
Singing in a Ukrainian folk choir was also something I really enjoyed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I guess I can teach you:
- how to be enthusiastic about music and singing
- how to cycle safely
- how to string and play the guitar (and some other instruments)
- what some philosophers thought about the world (mainly Schopenhauer and the Stoics)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Germany, Poland
