About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

ABOUT ME

Traveller and explorer, enjoying life. I love to meet new people, and exchange stories... Hard to describe a character in ones own words ;) , maybe the references and comments of my friends below will give you an idea who you're dealing with.

PHILOSOPHY

live and breathe the moment ... learn from the past ... always move forward.
Your own defintion of "sense of life" is the only one important... So live how you think it's the best way for you and the people around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, as often as I can. and I love meeting couchsurfers for a coffee or for showing them around in times I can't host ... aaand of course I enjoy surfing couches myself while I'm travelling. There's no better way to get to know that universe out there.

Also, I've prepared a website with personal recommendations for things to do and places to go in Berlin, where I currently live. Check it out: https://berlinforcouchsurfers.wordpress.com/

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed couches around Italy in 2008 and Spain in 2009, and in the US during a looong research trip observing the presidential elections of 2012! And I hosted a lot when I lived in Berlin and also a bit in New Orleans. I wouldn't wish to have missed a single one of all those days! Lucky to say that all my experiences were simply awesome so far... as a surfer and a host.

Interests

Ok it's a cliché: But soccer (and football too, for that matter. Geaux Saints!) is maybe the thing that drives me dangerously close to madness sometimes...
I'm very politically and culturally interested and read and write a lot on related stories.
generally I try to keep my allday life as colourful as possible: literature, politics, arts, music, dancing... I love to discover new wonders everyday. In every aspect of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ok, music: jazz; blues, especially when it's mixed with rock influences; funk... also latin
I like movies that make you think, that inspire you on a certain way... same ist true for series and, of course, books... I like complex stories with deep characters... And I read a lot of non-fiction, mostly on politics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving through the South of the US... feeling lost in that giant wilderness ... lost, small and alive
Also, walking through a storm all night in some forest in a lake area north of Stockholm, Sweden, with a broken down tent.
Climbing through a dark, deep cave filled with water in Semuc, Guatemala, everybody carrying no light but a flickering candle..

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing travel stories, talking about the universe, etc... Apart from that I like dancing. and I can tell you about journalism.
