ABOUT ME

I'm a 30-year old graduate student studying Nutrition and Public Health. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, running, and urban exploration, as well as cozy at-home time spent reading, crafting, and cooking. I've lived a few different places in the US, but have traveled extensively outside the country. I spent the majority of my life-years in Virginia but have no southern drawl to prove it. I'm an independent traveler and enjoy exploring new places with map (real paper map) in hand and a few good recommendations under my belt. My boyfriend, Kevin, and I frequently travel together. He is an artist and a secondary school teacher who enjoys reading all that exists on the internet about sustainable living.

PHILOSOPHY

Still trying to figure this out but it involves much around pausing in our pursuit of happiness and just being happy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time exploring couchsurfing but I'm excited! I've used AirBnB in the past and love the people-to-people experiences that these experiences provide. My sister has had great couch-surfing experiences and so I've decided to give it a try!

I've swum in Mosquito Bay, Puerto Rico: one of the world's most amazing biolumiscent bays!

Teach, Learn, Share

I make kombucha, do a lot of beer-brewing, have made my own detergent, and raise chickens. I am also a nutritionist and can give some great recommendations on healthy living :). Kevin is an artist as I mentioned, and is especially excited about printmaking, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects. He's also a handy man and can fix almost anything!
