On an extended backpacking trip throughout Europe with a friend after graduating from college! I've studied for a semester in Istanbul, Turkey, and done scientific research in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. I enjoy traveling to new places and making new friends, while hoping to learn as much as I can about different cultures and languages along the way. I'm an open-minded person who's easy to get along with and loves to have a good time, and I'm just looking to experience as much as I can while I'm still young!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a recent college graduate, I am looking for an affordable way to travel that won't break the bank. I heard about Couchsurfing through friends of mine that I met while traveling and thought it sounded like an excellent and truly unique way to meet new people throughout my travels. I also feel this will be a great way to get to know the areas in which I am traveling in a much more up close and personal way by getting to meet and befriend people that live and have grown up there.

Seeing as I'm new to Couchsurfing, I am very open to answering any questions potential hosts may have about myself and my background and/or FaceTiming to get to know one another.

Interests

I love to travel and gain new perspectives on what's important in life and to see how people besides myself live. I love trying new things, especially adrenaline-inducing activities like white water rafting, bungee jumping, and cliff jumping. I would love to go sky diving and take a hot air balloon ride over a beautiful landscape at some point during my travels.

In my free time I also enjoy reading good books, getting outdoors to hike, bike or enjoy a nice walk, and I love attending concerts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music from many different genres; country, pop, hip hop, some rap, and rock. I am really into movies so it's hard for me to list just one, but some of my favorites are Overboard, Love and Other Drugs, Bridesmaids, The Day After Tomorrow, and Love Actually. I am currently binge watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I got to conduct research at a university in Joao Pessoa, Brazil and was lucky enough to be able to attend the FIFA World Cup USA vs. Ghana game in Natal. It was an experience of a lifetime, that I'm extremely fortunate I got to enjoy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would definitely not call myself anything close to a history buff, and so I would love to learn about the places in which I'm visiting from locals themselves. Great sites to visit, restaurants to eat at, local outdoor areas in which to explore. Even learning a bit of the local language would be greatly appreciated, not to mention very helpful.

I wish to share many stories, laughs, and cups of hot tea with people I hope to call my friends when I leave.
