Hello, I’m Michelle!

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to uni in Seattle, Washington. Most recently I lived in Nairobi, Kenya .... next location tbd :-)

Though I am relatively new to Couchsurfing I am very fortunate to be not so new to traveling. During my time studying abroad in South Africa I discovered to a fuller extent the joy of meeting new people from all over the world! So, when my friend rec’d Couchsurfing it seemed like a wonderful fit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best part of studying abroad was getting to meet people from all around the world, and I look forward to doing that on Couchsurfing! I love hearing people’s stories especially when they are very different from mine. I also look forward to learning the best tips from locals and experiencing places more authentically :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste ranges by the day... generally, jazz, R&B, hip-hop, pop, classical...

I love watching movies in theaters and will usually try to catch new releases if possible. I also love to read and like to have lots of books loaded up on my Kindle in case I have a spare moment. All-time favorites would include the Harry Potter series and most anything by Agatha Christie, but usually I am reading whatever new release I can get my hands on from the library.

Jumped off what is supposed to be the highest commercial bungee jump in the world, Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I consider myself pretty warm and friendly and look forward to getting to know you! I'm a clean and conscientious guest and I'm happy to help with light housework to clean up after myself after my stay. I am unfortunately not much of a chef, but happy to be your sous-chef if we cook together (I can basically slowly cut vegetables... hahaha) or I'd be happy to pay for your beer - seems only fair given the generosity of CS hosts. :)
