ABOUT ME

About every four or so years, I get bored with myself and try something completely new. THIS four year period of my life is decidedly focused on "community". Nearly all of my passions seem to have "connection" as the fulcrum. If it involves connecting people, business, or concepts, I am fascinated, and involved.

I am intrigued with people and culture. I LOVE being able to visit with someone and understand THEM. I'm fascinated with people's stories about how they got where the are, what their life is like, how their world looks through THEIR eyes. Understanding, not judging. Accepting, not changing. Learning. And,most of all, growing...

I am ridiculously independent and drive crazy anyone who has a desire to fence me in! Even though I am light-hearted and a goofball at heart, and defy conventional rules, my tendency is to hang out in the deep end of the pool...

And I am fun... a great friend, confidant...and good soul. I love that about me! :-)

I don't think any of us have ever had a friend that we did not dislike a little. My most productive friends are those whom I find distasteful, as long as I can be so brave as to gaze into the mirror of their behaviors, see myself and be grateful for their gift of annoyance! MMH

If I take the slightest pleasure in criticizing someone, it's time to hold my tongue, and instead look in the mirror. MMH

Interests

Travel is a great love. Not the American type of travel where I stay in "American" hotels, and hang with "westerners", rather, the "let's go someplace where we can't even BELIEVE people live like this, or think like this!" I like the "let's sleep in their village, eat their food, walk in their shoes, and and get to know and understand THEM!" kind of travel. As you can imagine, it's hard to find a travel partner who is willing to travel like that, so I often travel alone!

But, in my world, I am never alone. There are no such things as strangers..just people I haven't yet met. As eccentric Auntie Mame says in the 1958 movie bearing her name, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!"

Other soul food? Good, deep, thought provoking books, movies, documentaries and conversations, even if I don't share the opinions expressed. Laughing... Silly dancing... And business strategy. Growing up a country girl, I love the outdoors. From kayaking, to horseback riding, hiking, or just simply hanging out in the park, "nature" feeds my soul.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything deep. I don't read novels. I love business, personal growth, self help, spiritual growth books. I don't watch tv. I like movies that make me think, make me feel, or enlighten or uplift me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day, my life is amazing, due to the willingness of others to share their interesting experiences. I get to live through their eyes. Awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to inspire and teach people how to build community...first for them selves, then for others. I love business strategy and entrpreneurship. I have owned several companies ranging from advertising agencies to a behavior modification clinic.

What do I want to learn? Wow! Everything! I want to learn more about people, culture, and connection. What can you teach me!?
