My name is Michelle. I'm currently living in London where I work in advertising. I'm interested in travel, art and photography, going to live music events, cooking, yoga and mediation. In my free time I like exploring my city, finding new restuarants, quirky bars and unique music venues with friends. Travel is a huge part of my life, and one of the things I love most about it is that it enables me to find new experiences, meet new people, try local food and get completely immersed in another way of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best thing about travelling is the people and the local experience. I would prefer to meet people in the city I am visiting who can recommend great places to visit and show me their area as a native! As nice as it is to go to the tourist places, I far prefer to see something off the beaten track I wouldn't have considered and discover hidden gems. I enjoy meeting new people as a big part of my travel experience, so thought Couchsurfing is the perfect way to do this.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love electronic music from the whole spectrum from deep house and melodic through to minimal techno, dubstep and drum and bass, but am always discovering new things, and would love to experience the local msuic scene in every city I visit - I need to see more live musicians! I don't watch a lot of movies and most of my reading is non-fiction, but I'm always looking for recommendations for great travel reads.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am passionate about nature and wildlife, and am incredible experience for me was staying in the Amazon rainforest for 4 days in Bolivia. I was travelling solo but joined other travellers and stayed in an eco community where we were lucky enough to see a range of wildlife such as caimans, pink river dolphins, squirrel monkeys and capybara.
