About Me

2015 was an awesome year! My next aim will be to backpack around Europe (again) in 2017 once I've saved up enough money.

-------

****WILL BE IN NEW YORK FROM 3-11 JANUARY 2016. NEED A COUCH! :) I promise to be good fun!****

Just a student, taking on Europe, one city at a time. Living in Copenhagen, Denmark till 2016! And no... Singapore isn't a part of China. I'm the one in red, on the left!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What better way can I truly experience the culture of a city than to hang out with the locals themselves? I want to experience the local way of living, make some friends, see the city from a new perspective (not the touristy one, of course), swap our highly-guarded family recipes and just enjoy the limited time I have in each city!

Interests

Just picked up Jiu-jitsu. Still very bad at it but I'm having a lot of fun rolling around. :)

I love cooking, I grew up shadowing my mum in the kitchen and I'm also a big fan of cooking shows.

When I'm not trying to learn new recipes (I'm trying Frikadeller at the moment, anyone with a good recipe, do share it with me!), I'm either watching shows or movies.

I'm also starting on iPhoneography because I'm too poor to get myself a sick camera and also, the iPhone 6 has a really decent camera!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I'm not into any specific genre, I just listen to whatever makes me feel good. In my iTunes list, you can find a lot of McFly, The Strokes, Death Cab for Cutie and Muse.

Movies:
Almost anything by Christopher Nolan, especially The Dark Knight trilogy. I particularly like Christian Bale too, I enjoyed Empire of the Sun a lot. I also like thought-provoking movies, something that leaves me hanging at the end.

Books:
Harry Potter, The Great Gatsby, On The Road, We need to talk about Kevin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, I went to Taiwan to visit a waterfall. The waterfall area was enclosed but we still snuck in because we are bad ass tourists.

Okay, that's it. Singaporeans are law-abiding boring citizens. You could help me out and take me on an adventure!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you how to cook Singapore-styled dishes. No, we don't eat Singapore noodles in Singapore at all, we have never even heard of that. I wonder how did they even come up with it. Singapore is also more than just chicken rice and chilli crab!

Not only food (sorry, Singaporeans are really big on food. It's always about food when you're with us), I can share with you the Singapore slang. It's English but with a local twist. ;) You'll be surprised with how a sentence can have a million different meanings just by adding ONE word to it.

Countries I’ve Visited
