About Me

Hi. I live with my hubby Phil and 2 cats, Bonno and Minxx, and our dog Larry. We have lived in the leafy outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne for over 34 years, having moved from Tasmania in our very early twenties. We've seen some of the world and lots of Australia and need another life to see everything we want to see. I run a very small photographic business from home Phil is a Logistics Manager who doesn't get a lot of free time, but weekends we juggle our grandchilden, our two daughters, my mother, and 2 interstate parents (both in different states). . Life is busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. When you stay with us you are welcome to use our home as your base or hang out and chill. I can't guarantee that I can "host" you in the true sense of the word - ie. run you around, but I can certainly get you to the train station that gets you directly into the city in around 30 to 40 minutes. And I make a decent omelette!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been hosting interstate visitors for over thirty years. People usually use our house as a base and come and go when they please. We have a very nice spare room with a very nice bed that gets little use. I find too that when travelling myself, even though I want to head off and explore the place where I am, it is often the people that are the most memorable aspects to a trip. And a local will always know the things that I could never discover through a guide book.

Interests

Even though my photography is also my job, my camera rarely leaves my side. There is still that buzz about the right light, the right expression, the perfect capture. Phil has a drone which he is hoping to get the time to learn how to use. We love food..Phil does most of the cooking and I love to eat! And drink! And I have just picked up the guitar which I bought for myself out of my very first pay when I was sixteen and started to learn again, at the same time as learning the uke. Sadly I can't sing, so please don't ask me to play for you unless you are hard of hearing! I also collect Hard Rock Cafe pins from around the world. I have a rule though - I do need to have visited the country.
