I'm from San Francisco, California but lived in Washington DC for 4 years after university until now. I worked for an education nonprofit but I also worked in politics for a little bit. I love traveling and being outdoors and love going hiking and running. Also like yoga when I can and love dogs! I speak French fluently (went to French schools until university) but love learning new languages (most recently tried taking a few Chinese classes). Excited to explore more in Europe and beyond!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I used Couchsurfing for the first time along my Eastern Europe trip this past Sept/Oct 2015 and loved it! Loved meeting up with people and sharing new things, or just staying with people and watching movies in Croatian or grabbing drinks and going out or cooking dinner.

I'll be traveling through Southeast Asia for 8 weeks now and would love to use it again. There's really nothing like sharing time with people who live in that city and meeting new people who aren't just other travelers.

I lived in France for a year and traveled a lot then. I stayed with a few families, but mostly hostels, and I much preferred staying with people to share stories, explore together, etc, so am hoping to do that again this trip. I love exploring together, but can also be independent if you're busy! I'm also on Couchsurfing to meet other travelers or locals who might want to meet up!

Hiking, traveling, cooking, reading, etc

I used to cook a lot (making lasagna, curry, roast chicken, etc) but haven't as much recently. I also used to love to bake too and love making pies or cakes.

Love being outdoors as much as possible, and will be running another half marathon in October, which I'm excited about.

Hm, none yet that are super amazing, but some that stand out...

1) Swimming in the Dead Sea. Visited a friend who was living there, and it's even more amazing in person than I thought it would be!

2) Feeding kangaroos and waking up to one outside of our tent in Australia when I spent 2 months there.

3) Driving through Yellowstone and seeing a huge bison/buffalo cross the road right in front of us (and then seeing so many after that too)

4) Hut to hut hiking in Austria during storms and dodging some scary cows

I've traveled a lot to Western Europe and to Israel, Nicaragua, Australia, and New Zealand. I also traveled a lot in the US, especially on the East Coast near Boston, New York, Washington, DC, etc. I love talking about travel and discovering new places.

I've also worked in various different areas, and even got to meet President Obama while I was working at the Democratic National Committee in Washington, DC. near the Capitol.

I'm relatively quiet and love exploring new cities, so I'd be happy either staying around and chatting in between, walking around exploring with a host, or just going out and exploring on my own!
