About Me

Hi, I am Michelle. I was born and raised in Singapore. I am married to a wonderful Taiwanese man and we have a 19 year old daughter. I have been living in Taipei over 20 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was hosted by an Italian man (now a friend) whom my sister and I met on the train to Florence. Of course at that time (1999) I didn't know this is called couch surfing. That was my first CS experience and it was the most memorable moments of my Europe trip. Now that I have a family, I hope we could have such wonderful experience together.

Interests

My new hobby is sewing. I also like baking, cooking and meeting new people. Sudoku is what I like to do when I am alone. But my number one hobby is playing board games. I think it is a good way to spend time with our loved ones and having fun at the same time. Did I mention I enjoy eating? Yes, I am a foodie too. I am always searching for local delicacies wherever I go. It is an important part of my life and travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of movies except horror. Some of my favorites are God Father I & II, Intouchables, In a better world, Les Choristies,'Amélie, Shawshank redemption and The Departure. TV series that I like are Sherlock Holmes, NCIS and Downtown Abbey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a backpacker traveling in Europe with my sister in 1999. It was a wonderful experience for us and we met many nice people on our trip.

I went scuba diving in Great Barrier Reef, Cairns without knowing how to swim.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a volunteer in the local elementary school. I can teach you to write and speak Chinese, bake chiffon cakes and scones. If you like origami, I can show you how to fold paper ribbon and crane.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope to share my culture and travel experience with people from all over the world. Cook some chinese dishes if I can find the right ingredients.
