About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world, meet as many people as I can, and help as many people as I can.

ABOUT ME

My name is Michelle and I am 25 years young. I am half Thai and Caucasian. Born in Thailand and moved to the U.S.A. when I was 5 years old. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science and a History Minor. I am also Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certified.

I love to swim. I love nature and grew up partly in South Lake Tahoe, California. I love film and have a very large DVD collection. I am OBSESSED with football (soccer) and was in Brazil for the World Cup. I saw 3 matches and I can't put into words the atmosphere. Time of my life!

Traveling is my passion. I have already traveled quite a bit and will continue to heavily travel for all of my life. Wanderlust is in my blood and I can't escape it!

My biggest passion in life along with traveling is charity and hope to one day have my own non-profit organization either addressing poverty or human enslavement.

My biggest trip was in 2013 when I traveled for 10 months. I left January 13, 2013 and was in South East Asia for 3 months, Europe for 5 months, Morocco during that time, Australia for a month and a half and New Zealand for 2 and a half weeks. I graduated university in 2012 and decided that there would never be another time in life to travel like this. Was amazing to see more of the world! This trip changed my whole life, who I am and what I believe in.

Message me as I would love to meet up and make new friends all over!

PHILOSOPHY

"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be, but before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean."

-Bob Marley

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surfed all throughout my 5 months in Europe and 2 months in South America and was the time of my life. I met so many amazing local friends. They showed me the real parts of their countries, not just the tourist traps and I am eternally grateful. I have left with so many lifelong friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How do I decided this? There are so many! Here are a few.

When I was in Venice, it rained and the most beautiful sunset occurred. I was able to take some really beautiful pictures.

In Hallstatt, I was able to take a tour of the salt mines and slide down from one to another. Very cool experience.

On Phi Phi Island, Thailand, I sat on the ground outside with a bunch of workers from Thailand and Myanmar, drank, ate food and spoke in 3 different languages together. One of the best moments of my life. People having very little and still making the most of life.

Watching Man United win the EPL in 2013.

Watching England, Italy, Germany, Ghana, and Portugal play at the 2014 World Cup.
