About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get as much out of life as possible - and love every minute of it!

ABOUT ME

Positive, outgoing, friendly and fun-loving person with a huge appetite on life, music, food and travelling.
I'm teaching IT to future multimedia designers.
I'm happily married and the mother of two children.
I hate staying alone in a hotel, so when I travel alone (usually for conferences) I prefer to stay in a private home and meet new people.
I'm from Denmark and I have lived in Germany, France and very briefly in Spain.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're not happy with your life, change it! Be the change you want to see in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've used couchsurfing on a business trip to London. I love to meet new people, so this is a very nice way to feel more at home when travelling - and not be alone.

My husband is not a fan of me inviting strangers into our home, so I will only be able to host people I've already met in person. But I hope to grow my network and hopefully return the favor if some of my hosts decides to come to Denmark.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One stay in London.

Interests

For the time being I'm hooked on Gamification and UX, but I'm very creative and I love to paint, draw and make jewellery. I very much enjoy running in the nature, especially by the sea, so I always bring my running gear when traveling. I love to expand my network and learn new stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: primarely comedy, action, and girlie movies, since I want to be entertained, not feel scared or sad.
- some favorites: Moulin Rouge, Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Die Hard, Harry Potter, The Goonies, Love Actually, The Holiday.
Books: same categories as above. Favorite book: India Knight - My Life on a Plate.
Music: Pretty much anything with a good vibe. Not so much rap, trance and heavy metal. I love Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Lana Del Rey and Norah Jones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a speaker at QCon New York 2013, an IT conference where I spoke about Gamification. I had always wanted to go to New York and to become a speaker and I managed to cross off two things on my bucket list with this experience :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Gamification, HTML/CSS, PHP, MySQL, painting, drawing, Danish/English/German/French, and gratitude.

Learn: Culture, cooking, playing guitar, Spanish/Italian/Dutch, anything IT that I don't know already :)

Share: My time, knowledge, friendship...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not sure what this box is for, but I'm a generous person, so I share whatever I can :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
