ABOUT ME

Im currently doing an exchange program in a little town called Hamilton in canada for my university degree. I study nutrition and dietetics and im very passionate about it!multiple times i have considered putting my degree to the side and just traveling so i thought that exchange was a great way to incorporate the two. i decided to defer my degree for the first semester of 2012 as i have always wanted to travel throughout south America and i figured now was as good as time as any!

PHILOSOPHY

i think its so important to always look after and respect yourself. you will come across people from time to time who will not treat you as well however as possessing the ability to hold your head high and know your worthy will take you so far. always do nice things for yourself and treat yourself from time to time. take time to smell the roses. i think as a society we get too caught up putting to much pressure on ourselves by striving to get straight a's in degrees or working ridiculous hours to obtain money. yes they are both important but in the end will it really matter? i think its also important to take particular time to talk to the person on the street that no one normally has the time of day for, the may not be the best looking, the funniest or smartest but they enjoy having someone to chat to like anyother.

interested in meeting with locals for coffee/chat. i find it rewarding to meet new people. you have the potential to learn so much about life from people you know so little. since traveling i have found that a local provides a far more extensive wealth of knowledge than a guide book ever could.

Interests

ive grown up by the beach so evidently i enjoy all recreational activities associated with it. i love to go for a good hike and id rather camp then stay in a hotel anyday. photography is something that i enjoy even though i am just a rookie. i love going for a good opshop and creating new pieces (im a tad nifty with the sewing machine). i have also recently developed a great passion for cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

i always fall asleep during movies ha, music i like a wide range anything acoustic/indie always goes down well. i like alot of homegrown Australian bands such as angus and julia stone, the beautiful girls, Sarah blasko, grin spoon, cloud control, goldfields, xi aver rudd, john butler trio. books- im a slow reader so i have not read all that many. i have enjoyed; the power of now, the secret, the power of one.
