About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a self employed furniture maker and more recently, I teach woodworking classes and private lessons. I split my time between Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
I also volunteer at a boat building program in Philly for under served teens. The kids work on the boats start to finish. The program focuses on developing social and emotional skills, a sense of teamwork, trust and positive self images. It's usually a fun time and it feels especially great to be a role model for the girls. They are fierce!
I've traveled a fair bit, went to school for a semester in Holland, lived in Arizona then Mexico working for a non profit building straw bail houses and then came back to Philly to grow roots.
Other things to know - I have a lot of interests and I'd like to hear about yours. I'm not a picky guest. I'll share a meal. I like figuring out how things work and I'm happiest outside (unless it's cold... I hate being cold).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As an American, it seems more important than ever to do anything cross cultural and inclusive. The day our "president" is out of office can't come soon enough.
and I just really like people.
Interests
Playing music or listening to someone else play music (especially bluegrass, any kind of guitar, or violin/fiddle) making things, green places, camping, hiking, your favorite local place to eat and drink and/or whatever slice of life you can show me that I would otherwise never see, etc.
