ABOUT ME

I'm a laid back, spiritual, open-minded 'jane-of-all-trades' kind of gal. I like to "collect experiences" so if something is new or different, then count me in!

PHILOSOPHY

I make an effort to tune in to 'child-like' curiosity, exploration, playfulness and love. (Not to be confused with 'childish' whining, lack of tolerance/patience.) And on this child-thing... just like kids, I believe all people can sing, dance, and draw...in their own way.
I always enjoyed the saying..."Everything in moderation, even moderation."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted 2 couch surfers at my home in the Dominican Republic and I've been a guest to multiple local families in the D.R. and Sri Lanka, (however they were not a part of CS.) I was recently a CS guest for the first time in D.C. and can't wait to travel again!

Experiential learning, great art and design, social justice, local cuisine, befriending those with developmental disabilities, a good laugh, artists, musicians and pet owners, strong breezes (either ocean or storms), ...Maybe the question is "What am I NOT interested in?"

音乐、电影和书籍

I love to read historical fiction and witty or moving memoirs & travel diaries. "Mongol", "Shogun", "Me Talk Pretty One Day", "KiteRunner", "A Fine Balance" are a few of my favorites, so far. I'm also a fan of movies, both classics and independent, inspirational and clever. There are bad movies for which I like one scene, character, or aspect and I wish I could make a "mixed tape" of those moments...but I haven't figured that out yet. As far as tv goes...I didn't miss tv at all during Peace Corps. Life is more interesting without it, for sure.
Music: different music for diff't moods, but recently I'm all about the acoustic singer-songwriters; maybe because I was teaching myself to play guitar.

Hot air balloon ride over the Sonoran desert or whalewatching in Bahia de Samana...minus the lost lunch at sea.

I'm sure there is plenty I could teach & share, but not sure what specifically that is! I know a little about a lot but haven't really mastered much. However, I love to learn in whatever (technical, social, spiritual) capacity! Teach me!
