I'm pretty much all about culture and art, and i'm not very picky. Literature and modern visual arts are probably my favorites, beyond that i love most modern and contemporary art branches. Theater, dance, film, performance pieces, mixed media. Honestly, any kind of sculptural, performance or art installation can just get me all giddy. I also adore many kinds of music.

Besides that i'm also active in a lot of social causes. I've taught special needs kids, have done art camps with kids from poorer neighborhoods and a lot more. Travelling is something that i do too little, but i'm pretty sure i'll keep thinking that however much i travel. Every new culture i meet makes me want to meet a dozen more.

I want to learn constantly, whether you are talking about some advanced economical or philosophical concept or your homegrown theory about why Captain Crunch was actually a warning about the invasion of Somali Pirates, i will want to hear it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, i'm a poor student. That's probably one reason. Beyond that though i think that travelling should mean meeting new people. Following a guide or going to places that tourism books advise me to go see has never been something i enjoy doing. I'd much rather get advice from a local native. Beyond that i think it's just plain fun. It feels more earnest.

Good beer, good wine, good food, when i am in a restaurant i will pick the thing i have never eaten, always.

Books: The master and margarita, S., Catch-22, Confederacy of dunces, The trial, metamorphosis (and everything else Kafka), a lot of lesser known belgian writers like Ivo Victoria, Peter Terrin, Dostoevsky's works (especially notes from the underground), any and all art theory books that don't make art an absolute drag to read about, Lolita, Slaughterhouse 5, many of the beat generation writers and their intellectual offspring, someone please stop me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a frantic night learning how to sew, followed by sewing the somehow all torn unitards of 10 dancers the night of a premiere.
